Dubai, is the glittering city of the United Arab Emirates; so popular that the United Arab Emirates as a whole has been described as ‘Dubai’. An important trading hub since its conception, Dubai has quickly emerged as a cosmopolitan, global city that is the business and cultural hub of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region. While the primary industry for trade has been oil, Dubai is also capitalizing on tourism as an industry of high income. The world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa is in Dubai and the city is now well known for its high-rise buildings and skyscrapers. Man made islands, hotels and shopping malls add to the attraction that is Dubai. It has slowly developed into one of the most expensive cities in the world, and is by far the best city to live in the Middle East.
Besides the usual sightseeing attractions in Dubai, like shopping or a tour of the city, Dubai offers some very fun attractions. Wild Wadi is one of Dubai’s biggest water parks, situated between Jumeirah Beach hotel and Burj Al Arab. This water park has twenty three rides as well as a fake thunderstorm. It works as a great day off for a family, a fun day with friends or even a corporate outing.
The park landscaping is mostly rock formations and tropical vegetation. This is to give the impression of being in the Hajar Mountains, with peaks and deep ravines to enhance this visual re-creation. All activities happen under the watchful eyes of the lifeguards stationed at the rides, and life vests are provided as well. Rides include the gravity defying Jumeirah Sceirah, which definitely needs some guts. The Master Blasters are a set of absolutely amazing water roller coasters. You can take a break by floating on a hoop in the Lazy river before you get back to more action. Breaker’s Bay introduces you to waves that are one and a half metres high. Flow Riders are great for surfing, and the Flood River is fantastic to experience rapids that the moving water creates. Besides these awesome high-adrenaline rides, there are also shallow pools for children, mini slides and cool water jets.
Almost matching up to the Disney water parks, this place provides for a great experience not only because the weather is usually good, but also because there are special offers running so one can avail good discounts for some of the rides in the park.
No doubt a place that you will leave feeling like you want to come back for more, Wild Wadi alone makes Dubai worth a visit. So don’t think twice, hop onto any of the Dubai flights and make sure to go wild in Wild Wadi.
